Introducing our 2025 School Theme....

2025 School Theme: Made For More

Many at-risk teens have been told, directly or indirectly, that they’re destined to fail.

Whether it’s because of poverty, trauma, poor academic performance, addiction, or family instability, they often internalize the belief that they are “less than.”

“Made for More” disrupts that narrative.

It says:“You are not defined by your past. You have purpose, value, and potential.”

It reframes identity in a way that affirms their humanity and opens the door to hope.

ABOUT US

ABOUT OSS

The Omaha Street School is an alternative high school for students who have not found success in a traditional school setting.

Often this the last chance for at-risk students to receive a high school diploma. We empower students to discover new hope and success through education, vocation, and faith.

The GAP U program is a dynamic and empowering initiative designed to support recent high school graduates as they navigate the often overwhelming transition into adulthood. Financial literacy, time management, job readiness, communication, and independent living skills are supplemented with on-the-job internships.

Entrepreneurship offers more than just business skills; it opens doors to empowerment, purpose, and possibility. By teaching students how to turn ideas into action, the program cultivates creativity, critical thinking, and resilience. Teens learn to solve real-world problems, manage budgets, pitch ideas, and build something of their own.

Vocational training offers a powerful alternative path to success by connecting education to real-world opportunities. These programs provide hands-on experience in trades like construction, culinary arts, automotive technology, healthcare, and more—equipping students with marketable skills and certifications that can lead directly to employment.

Enrichment classes allow students the chance to explore their interests, express themselves, and discover hidden talents beyond the core curriculum.

•    Academics – Students learn study skills and receive help to be current in their classwork.

•    Arts – The 402 Arts Collective will teach pottery, art and music. Students will rotate each quarter to participate in these classes.

•    Spiritual enrichment – Chapel will now be combined with gender groups so the chapel message will be the basis for discussion.

•    Emotional enrichment – HUDL group therapy sessions with our inhouse counselor.
